MEREDITH CRAWFORD

Meredith Crawford is principal violist in the Oberlin Orchestra at Oberlin Conservatory, where she is a viola performance major. Ms. Crawford studies with Peter Slowik at Oberlin and was the first place winner in the Ohio Viola Society competition.  Prior to Oberlin, Ms. Crawford attended Walnut Hill School for the Arts, where she studied with Michael Zaretsky, violist in the Boston Symphony Orchestra. M. Crawford who grew up in Maine, was Concertmistress of the Maine All-State Orchestra in 2002 and first-place winner of the Bangor Symphony Orchestra Competition that same year.  She has won Arcady Competitions on both violin and viola and has performed as a soloist on both instruments at Arcady Music Festivals with among others, the Kiev Chamber Orchestra, the Forte String Quartet and New York Philharmonic bassist William Blossom.  Ms Crawford has attended summer programs at Kinhaven Music School, Kneisel Hall and Yellow Barn.
