Bassist William Blossom joined the New
York Philharmonic in 1975, having been a member of the
Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra and the Milwaukee Symphony.
He performs with the New York Philharmonic Ensembles and
with other chamber groups in the
New York area. He has made regular guest appearances
with the Arcady Music Festival in Bar Harbor, Maine since
1985. From 1995 to 2013 he served on the Board of Directors
of the Rockland Conservatory of Music. Mr. Blossom
teaches privately and has coached the bass section of the
All-City High School Orchestra and the Independent Schools
Symphony Orchestra. An avid photographer, Mr. Blossom has
contributed regularly to the Lincoln Center Family Art Show.
Mr. Blossom has been making double bass bows in addition to
repairing double basses, crafts he learned from violin and
bow maker, Lloyd Liu.
